I knew it

Well, looking back on my post last weekend, it was too good to be true. The flu hit me Friday morning (really Thursday night) and forced me to leave work early Friday afternoon. I shivered my way through Friday night, but was lucky enough to get a dose of Tamaflu started in time to not ruin my entire weekend... Don't get me wrong, I'm finally just now getting out of bed, but I think it would have been a lot worse had I not had the medicine.

Not many pictures lately, but here's a new version of the alphabet brought to you by Emily. Enjoy!

I know nobody really wants to know about this next part, but for the reasons of doing this blog in the first place (digital memories and such) I think it's important to put in here... So, Emily's poop issues lately...

This started several weeks ago when she became very stopped up. We ended up calling the nurse line and getting a remedy for that, then we started Mirilax every day, which didn't seem to help at first. Well, then she didn't poop for two days straight, so yesterday I started worrying again, so called the nurse line.. again. We've been doing everything right, according to the nurse: fiber diet, mirilax, etc.

Well, we pumped her full of fiber bars, cookies, etc., even tried to get some mineral oil down her mixed with some juice, and nothing... until last night. She had one good one, then sounded off all night long :)

This morning she pooped three times within about 20 minutes... hahaha, she has become the poop factory! But, no pain! Doctor thought she was holding it in because of anxiety of the potty, so we're not even allowed to talk to her about pooping on the potty until about the end of school. When we do that, we have to do it a specific way: we have to tell her that it's up to her when she wants to go on the potty, but that until then, she doesn't get _______... That _______ is up to us, so we'll have to see what she really enjoys at the time, right now we're thinking watching Super Why! But we're really not sure yet. The main thing from the doctor was to give the responsibility to her, and no pressure. Yeah, that's easily said, she (the doctor) won't be the one changing her diaper when she's 18... Oh well, I just need to accept it :)

I'm very happy for at least one thing today, being finally out of bed... I can finally enjoy my favorite day of television of the year!

Off to the red carpet!
